Potty Training

Potty Training

I am sure all you moms know the joy of potty training.  Well here’s a new one for you.  My 3 year old has been back and forth with potty training for over a year now maybe 2 years.  So a few months ago we started letting him run around naked because that was the only way he told us he had to go.  It was so funny he would grab himself and take off running yelling “The pee pee is coming the pee pee is coming!”   Well with that being said you have to understand my son is very hard headed an had told his teacher at school/daycare that he was never going on the potty for her and stuck to it for months.  It wasn’t until the teacher told him she was never putting another diaper or pull up on him again and that she was going to go to the spare clothes closet and get him new ones if he ran out of ones I sent from having accidents.   So he started going for her only.  So then we were outside one day and our front porch has those holly bushes that people seem to love to put around there houses though I can’t stand, but anyway they are like 3 to 4 feet high so when he is out there you can barely see his head from the yard or street.  So we were talking about going potty like a big boy on the toilet and somehow we ended up telling him to pee on the bushes and it was like a game.  Something fun but hey he wasn’t peeing in his underwear so whatever works right.  Yeah no that came back to bite me today.  He is all about peeing outside no big deal I can wash it all off with the hose.  He went in the back yard and peed off the steps like normal and then banged on the door for me to help with his pants so I thought.  No he told me “Look I peed and pooped.”  He was all proud of himself.  Now at this point I am thinking he has to poop since all I see is the pee right so I say let’s go in and poop on the potty, and that’s when he tells me again “No, I pooped outside like the dog.”  That’s when I moved and low and behold there was poop and all I can think is oh that’s so gross and I am the lucky on that gets to clean it up!  So I asked him why he did it and he was so cute he said “What the dog goes outside I did too just like her.”  So needless to say we had a talk about it and I think the peeing outside has come to an end.
