So my 3 year old is in love with horses, cowboys, and everything associated with the two.  Every rope, extra shoe string, vacuum cord, and anything that he can make a lasso becomes one.  It amazes me at the things he comes up with.  He will take a shoe string out of a shoe just to make a lasso and then he runs through the house trying to lasso everything.  He’s a trip.  He is constantly trying to lasso the dog and put a lead/harness on the dog to walk her like a horse.  Sometimes she seems big enough to be a pony but I am always telling him to leave her alone and to get his horse.  He has a few different ones, the normal stuffed ones and then the one with the pole and horse head.  The one with the pole I am starting to hate.  If he played with it normally that would be fine but now his new thing is to take the end with the pole and shove it into the child locks on the door handles and pop them off.  So now I have caught the little monster in the garage a few times.  The one good thing is he can’t get out of it since he doesn’t know how to open the garage door yet and all the others need the keys.  This is a problem now since he can now knows how to get the child locks off he can come and go where he pleases and he will wait for just the right time.  I swear he plans things out.  So if anyone knows of any toddler proof locks let me know since now I am considering drilling holes in all my doors and adding locks up at the very top or ones with keys only though I think he will try to shove keys in them if they are reachable.  The slider locks and chains will not allow my husband to come and go for work in whenever he needs.  I am not exactly sure what to do since I need to find a way that he can’t get out of the house or into the garage and I really don’t want to have lock after lock on my doors, but I think we are getting to that point.
