Leaving on a Jet plane– My version

All my calls are bad, Im ready to go
I’m sitting here stuck in the door
I have to walk out to say goodbye
But the call is breakin, its early morn
The queue is waiting, it’s really grown
Already Im so worn I could cry.

So listen to me and work with me
Tell me that youll work with me
Help me like you really want to know.
Im ringing on a headset
I dont know when I’ll get off again
Oh, please, I need to go.

Theres so many things I’ve got to do
So many things I’ve recorded too
I tell you now, they dont cost a thing
Every place I go, I think of new
Every song I sing, I sing for new
When I come back, I’ll wait for your ring.

So listen to me and work with me
Tell me that youll work with me
Help me like you really want to know.
Im ringing on a headset
I dont know when I’ll get off again
Oh, please, I need to go.

Now the time has come to reset you
One more time let me remind you
Then reset your irds, I’ll be able to replace you.
Dream about the days to come
When you won’t have to cost new
About the times, I won’t have to count you,

So listen to me and work with me
Tell me that youll work with me
Help me like you really want to know.
Im ringing on a headset
I dont know when I’ll get off again
Oh, please, I need to go.

A Little Explanation

I used to work for this company called N.E.W. (National Electronics Warranty).  They are a really big company that has contracts with all different companies like Sam’s Club, Visa, K-Mart, JC Penny, DirecTV, Dell, Office Max and many others.  I worked for them under the DirecTV one and it was an okay job depending on what part you looked at.  One of the best benefits was that I got to work from home, and we would get all kinds of discounts from the other companies that N.E.W. had contracts with, so that was really nice.  The bad side was that being from home you got little support from others and you were on your own a lot of the time.  Then to make it worse people were unbelievably nasty on the phone.  It always amazed me how rude people were or got.  It’s like the saying “don’t shoot the messenger” just went out the window when people would call in.  I have been called all kinds of names and talked down to like you wouldn’t believe.  Then for every nice person that called in I got ten others that I wanted to hang up on or yell back at and tell them what for!  So now when I call into places I try to be nice to the person on the phone because I have been in their shoes.  But with all that said one of the girls I was in training with was Lori and we along with others all chat in different chat rooms where ever we can get help from when needed.  However we also used it when things were slow or just needed a laugh.  We would talk about all kinds of things and sometimes one of the things I would do to make the time go by was change the words to songs and it was always Lori that loved them the most and she has a special place in my heart.  She is an amazing person and now I drop in the chats when I can and just chit chat with her and the others and I try to have a have a song for her or two to make her smile for when all those nasty people are yelling at her.  It really does start to get to you at times when all you have is people yelling at you and treating you like your stupid.  So that is my little explanation of why I change the words to songs around.

It’s My Party—Song for Lori

My Version of It’s My Party

It’s my call and I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if you worked for new

Nobody knows where my cable has gone
But the signal left the same time
Why was it searching
When it’s supposed to be fine

It’s my call and I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if you worked for new

Then all my calls keep fussing all night
Can’t leave me alone for a while
‘Til Signals not searching
I’ve got no reason to smile

It’s my call and I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if you worked for new

The Techs just walked thru the door
Like a god with their machine
Oh what a birthday surprise
The signals isn’t beaming

It’s my call and I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if you worked for new

Oh-oh-oh It’s my call and I’ll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to…..

Songs for Lori—Proud Mary

My version of Proud Mary

Left a good job in the city
Workin’ for DTV ev’ry night and day
And all I ever lose is sleepin’
Worryin’ ’bout the way things might have changed

Big phones keep on ringin’
Proud Mary keeps on burnin’
Ringin’, ringin’, ringin’ in the closet

Cleared a lot of dvr’s in Memphis
Pissed off a lot of people down in New Orleans
But I never saw the good side of the W.A.H
‘Til I was blindsided by Ben with a review from QA

Big phones keep on ringin’
Proud Mary keeps on burnin’
Ringin’, ringin’, ringin’ in the closet

If you come down to the W.A.H
Bet you gonna find some people who are pissed
You don’t have to worry ’cause you have [if you got] no one
People on the WAH are unhappy and never give

Big phones keep on ringin’
Proud Mary keeps on burnin’
Ringin’, ringin’, ringin’ in the closet

Ringin’, ringin’, ringin’ in the closet

Ringin’, ringin’, ringin’ in the closet

Ringin’, ringin’, ringin’ in the closet
