My Weekend

posted in General |

This weekend we were busy as always.  We went to the rodeo on Friday night and had a blast.  It was meant to be for my oldest since he is so in love with the whole cowboy scene.  I have only been to one other one and it was a small one on base in Germany.  So this was a new experience for us.  I must say it is a lot like what you see on T.V. but is much more exciting when the horse or whatever is out comes charging towards you.  The down fall is the bugs.  Wow I spent the night pulling them off the baby and then myself.  That was so gross and it seemed like it got worse after I put bug spray on.  I think next time we will leave the stroller and sit higher up in the bleachers and pray that helps, since we were right up in front.  So needless to say we didn’t stay the whole night cause the kids were ready to go and we wanted to go to the Watermelon Fest on Saturday.  And we did make it to the Watermelon Fest in Rush Springs about two hours later then we planned, but we did make it.  My friend and her baby tagged along with us and we met up with other friends too so we had a great time there.  It was way too hot so we didn’t stay long but in the end it was worth it.  We had huge slices of watermelon and some homemade lemonade and root beer.  My oldest played for a bit on the playground that wasn’t too hot and rode the carousel horse of course.  Then we decided to leave since it was so hot.  The kids were getting fussy, but they all slept on the car ride home and that was nice since we all got some peace and AC.  Then on Sunday we stayed home and cleaned a little and tried to relax.  Wow though that didn’t happen somewhere along the line I just lost my mind.  I was stressed out like crazy and it was so hard I wanted to cry at times because my oldest was “mommy, mommy, mommy” nonstop and never let up.  The baby was okay most of the day but at one point I just gave him to my husband with a bottle and said “can you please take him.”  It was like I was on a short circuit that was fried and about to explode.  Does that make sense?  I don’t even know why or what happened to make me just want to scream and cry all at the same time.  My mom calls them calgon take me away moments.  I wish I could have one but I can’t even spray the trash can out without the oldest following me trying to help and the baby screaming because I left the house without him.  So I told my husband today that for my birthday next month I wanted to go out to eat without the kids.  So keep your fingers crossed for me that I can get a few hours one night to eat in peace and not have to stop to nurse or listen to “MOM, I don’t want this I want bread with ketchup on it.”
